summer heat

ive been telling some of my friends how much i need to go to the beach right NOW. i so miss being under the sun, lying on the sand, talking & laughing with friends... getting a tan (a very dark tan!)

well, i got my dose of the sun, alryt-- during our community duty, that is. imagine, having to walk around in our white uniform, wearing stockings and black shoes, carrying our OB bag, walking from house to house, pausing long enough to ask the people some info we needed, with some drunk guys walking around...

it was ok, really.. but so tiring! and no one was selling water in the area. since i do not drink soda, i had to wait until we got home to drink water.

anyway, im hoping tomorrow will be more exciting. i bet it will be-- coz we're helping out in Operation TULI!

our prof taught us how to do it, so we spent our entire lecture learning it and practicing it. since we can't do it on an actual... you know... we practiced using a chicken's neck. so they let us try it, from aspirating the anesthesia til doing the wound dressing. i dont think we'd actually do it on our own, but assisting a doctor would still be fun.

hmmm... i think i really am meant to be a nurse...
